About 67,000 hectares have been demined in Ukraine so far

In Ukraine, approximately 67,000 hectares have been cleared of Russian ammunition, including mines.

First Deputy Interior Minister Yevgeny Yenin said this on television, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We can note that about 67,000 hectares have now been cleared of mines. This is about a fifth of the territory that is subject to humanitarian demining, and we are actively paving this path together with our international partners,” Yenin said.

According to him, in the coming days, a team from Ecuador with its equipment should arrive in Ukraine to assist in humanitarian demining.

He specified that foreign rescuers come to Ukraine for a certain period. However, if necessary, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will apply for an extension of their stay.

“This is an extremely important friendly gesture of help, since these are specialists who do not need training or additional equipment,” the First Deputy Minister said.

He noted that Ecuador is not the first country to provide us with assistance in this direction, and thanked the teams from the United States, Poland, the Baltic countries and other European countries that sent specialists to Ukraine or provided specialized mine clearance equipment.

As reported, the pyrotechnicians of the State Emergency Service over the past day discovered and neutralized 1,906 explosive objects.
