In Sofia on May 9, a march of many thousands took place in support of Ukraine under the slogan “No to Russian fascism!”
Anastasia Simukha, an activist of the Ukrainian community in Bulgaria, told this to Ukrinform.
“About 20,000 participants with the flags of Ukraine, Bulgaria, the European Union marched from the center of Sofia to the Russian embassy in Bulgaria, where they held a rally,” said Anastasia Simukha.
In front of the Russian embassy in Bulgaria, the participants chanted: “Killers!”, “Red shit!”, a blue-and-yellow flag was projected onto the facade of the building, the faces of Putin and Hitler.
The participants also made a stop in front of the Presidential Administration of Bulgaria, where they chanted: “This is not Moscow for you!” “Resign Radev!” “Shame!” “Glory to Ukraine.”
As reported, on May 9, Ukrainian activists in Warsaw prevented the Russian ambassador to Poland, Sergei Andreev, from laying a wreath at the cemetery of Soviet soldiers: he was doused with artificial blood.
As writes IMI, right during an interview on the radio, one of the organizers of the action, Irina Zemlyanaya, was approached by Polish law enforcement officers. They took her passport and contact details. Also, data was taken from other participants in the action.
In turn, Polish officials and politicians call the actions of Russian Ambassador to Poland Sergei Andreev, who on Monday tried to lay a wreath at the monument to Soviet soldiers, “provocative”, and the reaction of Ukrainians and Ukrainian women to this is “understandable.”
