A peaceful patriotic rally in support of Ukraine took place in Melitopol, Zaporozhye region, temporarily captured by Russian troops.
According to Ukrinform, this is reported by the regional Telegram channel. “Ria-Melitopol“.
“In Melitopol, in the city park, they sing the anthem of Ukraine.
As announced by the Melitopol underground, today a peaceful patriotic rally in support of Ukraine took place in Melitopol.
Recall that a few days ago, Melitopol partisans invited the townspeople on May 29 to a pro-Ukrainian rally organized by the Zhovta Strichka Movement.
True, the time and date were reported, but the meeting place remained a secret for many. Many wanted to come to the rally and declare their position, but did not know where. Nevertheless, the people gathered,” the message says.
According to eyewitnesses, several dozen people gathered in the city park with impromptu posters, flags and yellow and blue ribbons.
“Thus, the residents of Melitopol have once again proved that they are not ready to give up and believe in the soonest release of Melitopol by the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the message emphasizes.
As Ukrinform reported, the mayor of Melitopol warned residents of the city against obtaining Russian passports, as Russia is issuing its own passports to residents of temporarily occupied territories in order to mobilize them and send them to fight against Ukraine.
