A capsule of the future service center of the Minsk Automobile Plant was laid on the Don

The construction of the trade and service center “MAZ YUG” of the Minsk Automobile Plant has started in the Rostov Region. On October 7, a solemn ceremony of laying a symbolic capsule of the future auto giant took place, which was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation Dmitry Krutoy and Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region Alexander Scriabin.

“Today’s event is a long-awaited project. This is the first project in Russia to build a service center for the Minsk Automobile Plant. Now its products have changed a lot. Given the great interest of business in this technique, it is logical that such a center was formed right here, on the future transport ring around Rostov <…> By implementing this facility here, we will get not only jobs, but also social and economic development,” said Alexander Skryabin during the ceremony.

According to plans, the cluster, which will increase the volume of supplies of equipment and parts to the south of Russia and the economic growth of the Don region, will be built before the end of 2023. The new center will significantly upgrade the public transport fleet already in the coming year.

“Our trade turnover grew last year by 48%, and this year by another 30%. It is rightly noted that this trade turnover is balanced, because we have a very large bias with certain regions of Russia either in favor of Belarus, or in favor of the Russian region And here we actually have a zero balance, mutual trade, and there were many directions that mutually balance each other,” Krutoy explained.

The service and sales cluster will include a zone for repairing equipment (with an area of 700 “squares”), a car wash (with an area of 140 “squares”). Also, the center provides administrative premises with a waiting area for customers, meeting rooms, warehouses for storing spare parts.

A demonstration of modern MAZ equipment was also held at the site of the future auto giant. The guest from Belarus noted that his country, taking into account the industrial potential of the Don region, is increasing the supply of components for various industries, including grain harvesters. Also in the Rostov region, Belarusian metal products and industrial goods are still actively purchased. The Belarusian ambassador also visited the workshops of Rostselmash, discussing with the leadership issues of cooperation in the production of agricultural machinery, taking into account Western sanctions.

Also on that day, the Belarusian ambassador met with the governor of the Rostov region Vasily Golubev in the regional government, where issues of further interaction were raised, taking into account the trade, economic and investment potential of the territories. The participants of the conversation noted that great prospects are opening up, and not only in the transport industry, but also in the field of processing agricultural products, in animal husbandry. And the transport industry is not limited to the supply of buses and trolleybuses. Minsk will also bring electric buses and municipal equipment to the south of Russia.

Dmitry Krutoy emphasized that he was very impressed by the high investment activity in the region and such a rapid pace of construction, as well as how actively the authorities support small businesses, which contributes to the economic prosperity of the region. Vasily Golubev stressed that there are all prerequisites for active cooperation, and the creation of the MAZ YUG service center in the Myasnikovsky district will be another step towards close partnership.

“Our relations with our native Belarus are a priority. The Rostov region and Belarus have always had close relations. I am sure that close cooperation will continue,” said the head of the Don region.
