Zelensky: there is no talk of placing Canadian fighters in Ukraine yet

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, in response to a question about the possibility of redeploying Canadian CF-18 fighters from Romania to Ukraine, said that this was not yet discussed.

“There is no talk of this today,” Zelensky said, quoted by TASS

He added that he had previously received assurances from the United States, Great Britain, Turkey, EU countries and Canada that they would support Ukraine in the event of an escalation of the military situation.

Earlier it was reported that the Canadian government is proposing to transfer about two dozen CF-18A combat aircraft to the Ukrainian military.

The McDonnell Douglas CF-18 Hornet is a Royal Air Force multi-role fighter based on the American F / A-18 Hornet fighter-bomber. Produced by McDonnell Douglas in 1982-88, a total of 138 aircraft were produced. During operation, he repeatedly participated in military operations: the war in the Persian Gulf, the bombing of Yugoslavia and an international military operation in Libya.

It became known why Zelensky wants to introduce martial law in Ukraine
