The City of Buenos Aires announced that for the New Year it will also double the number of controls throughout the territory. There will be 20 stalls located at strategic points. The measure, which is replicated every year, is intended to reduce road incidents during the festivities.

The controls consist of three very simple steps: first, the documentation is verified (driver’s license, green card, insurance), then the test is carried out with alometer-type equipment (to determine if there is presence of alcohol) and finally, Those who test positive will be tested with a breathalyzer to determine dosage.

As explained by the Buenos Aires secretariat, to optimize the control points in different locations, the funnel methodology is used: the vehicular flow is channeled taking several lanes of the avenue to be able to verify a greater number of drivers and so that all the residents who pass by the place do it at a low speed, see what the control is about, and awareness is generated in other drivers.
