This was announced by the head of the Lugansk regional military administration Sergei Gaidai on Telegram.
He noted that the Russian invaders were conducting an offensive operation in the areas of the settlements of Lisichansk and Severodonetsk.
“During the day, we have 12 dead in Severodonetsk, one more in Gornaya Grogmad. Houses are destroyed and burnt out. In some places, entire streets, as in Nirkovo – five housing estates in a row. In Zolote – six, in Vrubovka – three, three more – in Rubizhne. It is impossible to count the damage in Toshkovka, where hostilities continue,” Gaidai wrote.
However, he noted, the assault on Severodonetsk was not successful – the Russians suffered losses in personnel and retreated.
At 4 am on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a “special military operation” in the occupied Donbas. Russia launched missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine and launched a direct full-scale invasion in four directions. The armed forces of Ukraine are rebuffing the enemy, the blitzkrieg plan – to capture Kyiv in two or three days – failed, the Russian army retreated from the capital. The Russian military is committing thousands of war crimes and crimes against humanity throughout Ukraine.
