China’s total investment in African countries exceeds $ 43 billion

The total volume of China’s direct investments in African countries by the end of 2020 amounted to more than $ 43 billion. This was stated on November 26 in the white paper “China and Africa in a New Era: Partnership of Equals” published by the State Council of the People’s Republic of China.

It is clarified that China has created more than 3.5 thousand companies in African countries, with the bulk of investments accounted for by private enterprises. Agriculture is a priority area for Chinese investors in Africa. By December 2020, more than 200 Chinese companies have invested about $ 1.11 billion in the agricultural sector of 35 countries.

The Chinese authorities have allowed the import of about 350 types of agricultural products from African countries, this contributes to the growth of bilateral trade. In total, millions of jobs have been created by Chinese companies in African countries, with 80% of the state being local residents.
