Magnitude 5.8 earthquake hits Myanmar

On the territory of Myanmar, near the border with India, on the morning of November 26, tremors with a magnitude of 5.8 were recorded. This was reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center.

The epicenter of the earthquake, which occurred at 06:15 local time (02:45 Moscow time), was located 16 kilometers north-west of the city of Hakha (20 thousand inhabitants). The source of tremors lay at a depth of 40 km.

Possible damage and casualties have not been reported.

As reported IA REGNUM, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 hit the Santa Cruz Islands (Solomon Islands) in the Pacific Ocean.
