Riots curfew in Martinique

A curfew was imposed on the island of Martinique (France’s overseas territory in the Caribbean) to curb unrest, the French prefecture’s press office reported on November 25.

The restrictions are in effect from 19:00 to 05:00 local time (from 02:00 to 12:00 Moscow time). They promise to cancel the curfew after “Restoring calm”… The report also notes that the Prefect of Martinique Stanislas Kazel Strongly condemns the acts of violence taking place in the region.

Since November 22, riots have broken out on the island, the reasons for which are a social crisis and protests against the introduction of covid passes.

As reported IA REGNUM, 28 September on the French island of Mayotte in the Indian Ocean, a group of unidentified persons tried to burn down the city hall and the police station in the Kungu commune.
