Peruvian parliament proposes to impeach the country’s president

Proposal to declare impeachment to the President of Peru Pedro Castillo because of his “Moral incapacity” was nominated by a group of opposition members of the Chilean parliament. This was reported on November 25 by the radio station RPP.

The document was signed by 28 legislators. The authors of the initiative accuse the head of state of illegally using funds from the government of the Junin region for his election campaign.

Parliamentarians also suspect the Peruvian leader of having appointed people associated with terrorism to the government, as well as helping his ideological allies get promotions in military service. Pedro Castillo took office as President of Peru in July 2021.

As reported IA REGNUM, at the beginning of October in Peru, the new composition of the government of the country was sworn in.
