This Friday, December 3, is celebrated in Roe the «IV ARTISTIC FESTIVAL FOR DIVERSITY, ETHOS ‘ with the motto “We all have CAPACITIES, you just have to want to see them”. A great party to commemorate the “International Day of Persons with Disabilities” with the objectives of giving visibility to the artistic capacities of people with Functional Diversity, raising awareness in society about the characteristics of these people and what they are very capable of, when they are offered resources and opportunities, and, finally, promoting a society fairer and more inclusive.
It will be possible to enjoy inclusive performances in which people with Functional Diversity (blind, with Down syndrome, with Autism Spectrum Disorder and with Intellectual Development Disorder) will perform together with other artists without Functional Diversity, giving an example of real inclusion in the stage.
This year, it is worth highlighting the premieres of songs by different artists. First of all, the ETHOS Center for Diversity students present the Christmas song “A special shine”, with a video clip included, composed by David Núñez Mañó, director and music teacher at ETHOS, in which 25 people with autism, aged between 5 and 32 years, participate, with the sole objective of giving visibility to autism and that , without a doubt, it will be one of the songs of this Christmas. We also have as a novelty the song “The inclusive look” by the rapper from Huelva Sergio Delgado “Metrak” with a musical basis by Cristian Sánchez, a person with Intellectual Development Disorder from ETHOS. And finally, within the premieres, we will be able to enjoy several songs from the album “Esperándote” by Sergio Robles, which is in the production phase and will be released in 2022.
In addition, the festival will feature the choir and dance group of the association “Voces del Conquero”, in which people with Down syndrome and intellectual development disorder dance, the Tiflonuba theater group, in which 50% of the actors are affiliated with the ONCE, the flamenco singer María Rodríguez and Antonio Mora, both also affiliated with the ONCE. María will be accompanied by guitarist David Soto.
The entire Festival will be interpreted in sign language by Adrián Domínguez, Tania Rangel, Rocío Dorado and Rubén Rionegro, so that, in this way, it is accessible to deaf people.
The event will begin at 7.30 pm in the assembly hall of the ‘Los Desniveles’ Social Center in Huelva and the entrance will be, as always, free until full capacity is reached, since ETHOS, who organizes the festival, does not want “money to be an excuse for not being able to enjoy this show for inclusion”.
