Corrales and its Cinema Theater have dressed up again for the award ceremony of the Villages Medals to different people, groups and institutions, a recognition that materialized on the occasion of April 8, Day of the Municipality of Aljaraque, and whose delivery was postponed due to the situation caused by the pandemic on that date.
Numerous regional, provincial and local authorities, as well as a wide representation of the social agents of Aljaraque and residents of the town, have witnessed this event in which the health personnel, the educational community, the Civil Guard, Local Police, Civil Protection, Municipal Guards, UME and INFOCA, to solidarity citizens, municipal staff and employees of essential services for their extraordinary work carried out in these last and difficult months in a unique way.
The town’s medal is the highest decoration that the Aljaraque town hall can award and these have been awarded by the mayor of Aljaraque, David Toscano, and by the first deputy mayor, José Cruz. The event had the presentation of the journalist Rafael López.
The mayor has remarked, in his speech during the gala, that “it is fair to thank and honor so many people who have put the best of themselves in moments that have been really complicated. They have been almost two very different and difficult years, but they have also brought out the best in many and, therefore, we could not miss the opportunity to thank the effort and work of so many in the service of our people. I am convinced that we are at our best despite the break we have suffered due to the pandemic, and I am sure that, if we all work together as we have done during these two years, and if we continue to contribute the best of each one, Aljaraque it will arrive where we all wish ”.
The event was enlivened by a quartet of saxophones from the Municipal School of Music and Dance of Aljaraque.
