The PSOE of Huelva and Socialist Youth has reiterated its defense and support for the LGTBI collectivewith a program to commemorate the international pride day, which is celebrated on June 28. With this, they want to vindicate that commitment to policies in favor of sexual diversity and non-discrimination.
In this way, one more edition, PSOE and Socialist Youth return to the streets to make visible the group and the work that is done during the rest of the year. In addition, the youth organization has presented a motion to express that commitment, defense and support for this LGTBI + group.
As has become traditional, the LGTBI flag is displayed at the party’s provincial headquarters, with which it is intended to make clear the historic commitment and demand of the Socialist Party, “seventeen years of same-sex marriage, fifteen years of the gender identity law, a year of the recovery in public health of assisted reproduction for lesbian women, single women and trans people. All these rights have one thing in common: a socialist government”, highlighted the LGTBI secretary of the Huelva PSOE, Daniel Martín.
In addition, from JSA Huelva, its general secretary, Javier Huete, has asked that the older people of the LGTBI + collective not be forgotten, “people who were once young and fought but, above all, suffered the worst face of this vital movement ” .
“We cannot allow that those who achieved the rights that we have today have to be forced back into the closet or not treated according to their gender.”
For the socialists, “people, regardless of their age, sexual orientation or gender identity, must have their rights guaranteed to have a full and independent life and society must have the opportunity to benefit from the contributions of the elderly.”
“To do this, -they added- any type of discrimination due to age, sexual orientation or gender identity must be combated and public services must be consolidated that favor the maintenance of health and physical, mental and emotional well-being”.
