The vice president of Deputation and mayor of Gibraleón, Lourdes Martín, has presented this Thursday in the Diputación de Huelva a new edition of the ‘Olonten Cultural Autumn’the cultural programming that the City Council is going to offer Gibraleon from September 23 to November 20, 2022 at the Olontense Center for Contemporary Art (CODAC) in the town.
At the press conference, the mayor was accompanied by the Councilor for Culture of the Gibraleón City Council, Elena Rodríguez; the artist José Ramírez; the Portuguese photojournalist, Fernando Ricardo; the poet Ramón Llanes, promoter of the proposal Poets of Huelva for Peace; and the director of the ‘Ibero-American Cultural Autumn’, Jaime de Vicente.
Martín has indicated that next Friday there will be a double inauguration. On the one hand, at 8:00 p.m., the main room of the CODAC opens to the exhibition Cervantes or the desire to livean exhibition by the Cervantes Institute and the Ibero-American Cultural Association, made up of 45 works by one of the most relevant photographers on the national scene, José Manuel Navia.
On the other hand, the mayor has indicated that “also this Friday we inaugurate the collective exhibition Vocationem Metallicum, the call of Metal, curated by the photographer María Villa Díaz and the Musicomium Association of Gibraleón, in which we are presented with the photographs of Jacques-Marie Bat, José Oro Aguilera, José Emilio Paqué and Francis Tejada, offering the public the reality of the world of rock and of metal through the artistic gaze of photography”. The inauguration will be accompanied by a concert by the Huelva metal band La Señal.
On October 20, the long-awaited second edition of ‘Art exhibition’ arrives, “which will fill all the rooms of the CODAC with this magnificent project born in a very humble way but that, each edition, gets bigger thanks to the participation of Spanish artists and Portuguese”, since “everyone knows the unity and familiarity that connects us with our dear Portuguese neighbors”, the mayor stressed.
A large group of photographers of the stature of Marcos Arroyo, Elena Sánchez, Fco. Javier Martín, Elena Guillén, Luis Jurado and Carmen Kahlo participate in this edition, as well as the collective exhibition Poets of Huelva for Peace.
Martín has emphasized that “within this edition of ‘Art exhibition’ 2022, one of the highlights will undoubtedly be the exhibition of the renowned Portuguese photojournalist Fernando Ricardo, who will show us his extensive work, and it is a real privilege to be able to count on him in this new edition of the exhibition”.
