The Patio las Letras of the Cultural Center of Umbria Point will host this Thursday, August 4, the presentation of ‘Between shoots’ of the writer from Aracena Jose Manuel Garcia Duran. The act will begin at 8:00 p.m., with the intervention of Jesús González Francisco.
García Durán is from Aracena although, circumstantially, he was born in Minas de Riotinto. Graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Seville, he lives in the countryside by his own decision, surrounded by nature. He works as a tour guide at the Grotto of Wonders.
After the novels ‘Land of copper and blood’ and ‘The cemetery of the empty tombs’, also from the book of stories ‘Pieces’, he now presents his latest work: ‘Entre sarmientos’. He was the winner of the Story Contest ‘Who was William Martin?’, Framed in the Black Week of Punta Umbría to commemorate the 75th anniversary of ‘William Martin, the English legacy’, thanks to his story ‘A bouquet of mallows’.
‘Entre sarmientos’ is a novel in which the protagonist, a successful professional, suddenly perceives a devastating growing spiral within himself and decides to take a journey towards the simple life, rural life.
After García Durán, on Thursday 9, the literary cycle of the Patio de las Letras will continue with the author José M. Vázquez Lazo, at 8:00 p.m.
