Presentation in Punta Umbría of ‘Kabul: flee to live’

The Courtyard of the Letters of the Cultural Center of Punta Umbría continues this Thursday, June 23, with its usual summer literary cycle. This time the journalists Fermin Cabanillas and Reyes Calvillo they bring their joint work to Punta Umbrian lands: ‘Kabul, flee to live’ (Editorial Wick)at 8:00 p.m. and with the presentation of another journalist, Santiago González.

This non-fiction novel, based on real events and published by Pábilo Editorial, tells the story of a young translator who had fled from Afghanistan in 2013 and was established in Seville, whose family the Taliban threatened with death if he did not return to Kabul to be executed.

As a diary, both authors combine their narrative styles to weave a sequence of the many efforts that were made for almost two months to save the family of the translator and take her to Spain.

To contextualize the event, Cabanillas and Calvillo have had the words of Javier Gutiérrez Nogales, TVE correspondent in the Middle East; José Enrique Monrosi, journalist for infolibre; and Margarita Robles, Minister of Defense of the Government of Spain.
