Palos renews its aid to the Virgen de la Cinta soup kitchen

Border Sticks renews its aid to the Virgen de la Cinta Social Kitchen with 6,000 euros, which are intended to feed those most in need in Huelva.

Since 1983, the volunteers who make up the “Virgen de la Cinta” Benevolent-Social Association have ensured that no citizen of Huelva lacks a plate of food. A great task that has been complicated in recent times due to many factors such as the rise in prices.

Aware of the importance of his work, the City hall de Palos de la Frontera renews a collaboration agreement with the association every year. With this, the Palermo consistory contributes 6,000 euros to help all those people who need the services of the soup kitchen.

On Monday morning, the mayor of Palos de la Frontera, Carmelo Romero, went to the headquarters of the association. During his visit to the facilities, the first mayor was able to talk with Carmen Vázquez, president of the entity and learn first-hand about its operation and the needs they are experiencing.

“We live in difficult times, the health and economic crisis is taking its toll on the population. We must work for the recovery of the entire population, leaving no one behind”, defended the first mayor, Carmelo Romero.

Currently, an average of 170 people come daily to this dining room in Huelva to get a plate of hot food. A fundamental aid to which is added a sandwich, a piece of fruit, cookies and milk to cover the basic food needs of those citizens who lack financial resources.

Thanks to the City Council of Palos

The president of the dining room, Carmen Vázquez, was very grateful for the help provided year after year by the Palos de la Frontera City Council. A fundamental support for the operation of the association that intensifies in festive periods such as Christmas.

In addition, from the directive of the association they make an appeal to the entire population. The summer months are approaching and the volunteers are decreasing, so they encourage them to join in collaborating with their fight.

In this way, the city hall of Palermo continues with its intense social policy, collaborating with different associations and entities from Palos de la Frontera and the entire province of Huelva.
