Palos provides social assistance to 35 families in the town

To the plenary hall of the Municipality of Palos de la Frontera Many residents of the town came to collect from the hands of the mayor, Carmelo Romero, and the councilor Gema Domínguez, the different municipal benefits offered by the local Consistory.

A total of fifteen families from Palos de la Frontera already have their “baby check”. A financial aid that the local council provides to those who decide to be fathers or mothers, with special care for large families.

The well-known palerma social benefit was increased at the beginning of this year. This went from 900 to 1,000 euros in the case of a general family unit, and 1,200 euros for large families. Money that must be spent on everything that involves the birth of a child or the adoption of her.

Local businesses also benefit from this help. One of the requirements is that its entirety must be spent in stores in Palos de la Frontera. Whether in pharmacies, food stores, clothing stores or specialized establishments.

On the other hand, these families were given a small tree. A gift that is included in the “A birth, a tree” program. A symbol of the importance of caring for the environment and its awareness in future generations.

The delivery of aid continued with two “housing checks”. A municipal program from which many young people from Palermo who have acquired their first home have benefited. This check is made up of a part of 10,000 euros that are fully forfeited, that is, they do not have to be returned. But, in addition, one of the beneficiaries has been given the opportunity to increase this figure by 6,000 euros with a deposit to be returned in 6 years and without interest.

For Carmelo Romero, mayor of Palos de la Frontera, these are fundamental aids in the functioning of any society. “We must help our neighbors as much as possible. The council has to be there, at any time of need, to support them.”

Finally, the delivery of benefits to the elderly took place. An aid that aims to facilitate the replacement of bathtubs by shower trays. This measure contemplates the drafting of the project and a total subsidy of 1,150 euros for each beneficiary and has a clear objective, the removal of architectural barriers in homes for the elderly and disabled, replacing the bathtub with a shower tray for better personal hygiene. . In total, seventeen neighbors have received this help.
