The Huelva capital will host on September 23, 24 and 25 the VI Sports Faira great event promoted by the City Council of Huelva which will bring together a total of 35 sports clubs and centers from the city in the Gardens of the Casa Colón, the Plaza del Punto and the Plaza del Cine, who will be doing exhibitions and demonstrations of numerous sports modalities.
As the Councilor for Citizen Participation and Sports, María Teresa Flores, has advanced, “we are facing one of the most important sporting events that, throughout the year, we launch to promote the practice of sports and the acquisition of healthy habits, both among children and among adults, so we are sure that this weekend Huelva will be a great sports festival”.
In addition, the mayor highlights, “as a novelty this edition will also acquire international relevance, as it is framed in the European Week of Sport, an initiative of the European Commission to combat sedentary lifestyle and whose motto is the hashtag #BEACTIVE, which is also we want to join from the City Council to transmit to Huelva all the health benefits of leading an active life”.
The VI Sports Fair is therefore presented as a consolidated event, a long-awaited appointment, in which it is expected to exceed 2,500 visits, and which returns after the summer for another year with numerous activities and surprises, so that the people of Huelva will be encouraged to practice sports in this new course.
For this reason, one of the main objectives of this Fair is to show the wide range of activities currently offered by the city’s sports clubs and centers, with a view to also promoting grassroots sports among children and young people.
In this sense, the capital has become in recent years a true sports benchmark, thanks to the many satisfactions and joys that Huelva athletes and clubs are giving, and also because Huelva has been chosen as the venue for the celebration of important events. National and international.
Thus, as the City Council announced yesterday, next November Huelva will have the privilege of receiving the recent European basketball champions. For the first time, Huelva’s capital will host three official matches of the Absolute Spanish Basketball Team which will take place on November 14, 24 and 27 at the Carolina Marín Sports Palace, one for the Men’s National Team, which will qualify for next year’s World Cup, and two for the Women’s National Team, for the Eurobasket.
But, before hosting the Basketball Team, this last weekend of September will be the time to enjoy the city with the VI Sports Fair and, hand in hand with the different sports clubs, this event will be the perfect showcase to encourage the practice of sports in this new season and to publicize the different modalities that can be practiced this course.
In this way, fans, sports lovers, or people who do not practice any sport but want to discover what Huelva has to offer can participate in functional training, rhythmic gymnastics, fencing, rollerblading and petanque exhibitions, among many other proposals that they will alternate with badminton, basketball, paddle tennis, table tennis and rugby matches.
This year the Sports Fair has the participation of a total of 35 sports clubs and centers, six more than the last edition, which is why this event continues to grow and makes available to the public the possibility of seeing live and in direct many exhibits.
All this, from the Consistory’s conviction that sport also contributes to addressing such important sections as equal opportunities and the prevention of gender violence, as well as integration, in terms of migrant or disabled people, without forget values and skills for life such as solidarity, effort, discipline or teamwork, which are so linked to sports practice.
In this way, sport in general will be the main protagonist of this great event, so that the entire family can enjoy the numerous activities that have been organized within the framework of this Fair.
