The Huelva City Hall has hosted this Wednesday afternoon an endearing and emotional act of homage -promoted by the Consistory and the Sporting Club of Huelva– to the young athlete from Huelva Ribbon Rodriguezthat After seven seasons as a player, she says goodbye to the club to undertake a new sporting stage outside the capital of Huelva.
A meeting in which the mayor of Huelva, Gabriel Cruz, has wanted to convey to family members, colleagues and directors of Sporting that “although it is a farewell and it is logical that we feel sad because the club loses a key piece, both in the As in the locker room, we have to think that Cinta is not leaving, but is beginning an exciting path that we are convinced will be full of successes and that we will be able to celebrate and enjoy with her”.
The mayor has also revealed his “excitement, great enthusiasm and pride for the projection of Cinta Rodríguez, a player that I have followed all these years and that I have had the opportunity to see her play at the highest level in many games, and that I will follow watching wherever she goes because it is a real luxury to see her compete on the pitch”.
At this event, the woman from Huelva was also supported by her coach, Antonio Toledo, as well as by the president of Sporting, Manuela Romero, who described the athlete as “a brave player, technically very good and complete, committed and with a great desire to improve, something that we have been able to verify since he arrived at the club at just 15 years old”.
As it was also wanted to highlight during this act, despite the youth of Cinta Rodríguez, her career with Sporting has allowed us to verify the talent and the great evolution of this excellent player. An athlete who has had the support of the club at all times, where she showed enormous potential from the beginning, which presaged that she would be part of the elite of women’s football in Spain.
Thus, it should be noted that Cinta Rodríguez already has titles such as the European champion in the Spanish Under 19 National Team and the Spanish champion with the Andalusian National Team, in the under 17 category, having also achieved this last year together with Sporting the title of runners-up in the Copa de la Reina.
A club that the City Council also wanted to thank for giving it wings so that, from now on, it can take that great leap that will allow it to continue fighting for its big dreams and carry the name of Huelva high, also becoming the best reference for many other athletes from Huelva who see in her that with effort, perseverance and a lot of work you can go as far as her.
