Activities at the Muelle de las Carabelas for August 3

The Huelva Provincial Council has designed a special schedule of activities to commemorate the festivity of August 3, the day on which the discovery ships departed, in the Dock of the Caravels. Throughout the day, different shows and workshops around the world of puppetry, distributed in two stages: ‘Pergolas’ stage and ‘Tavern’ stage. In addition, the Rabid area will continue to offer the activities that make up the general summer programme.

The ‘Pérgolas’ stage will host various puppet workshops given by the Títeres Atiza and Búho Teatro companies, which will be held at 12:00, 13:00, 18:00 and 19:00. At 12:00 and 7:00 p.m., the Búho Teatro company will offer its show ‘La ratita presumida’. The Puppet company Atiza will offer the puppet show ‘The Night of Toys’ at 1:00 pm and ‘Martina’s Dream’ at 6:00 pm.

On the ‘Taberna’ stage, at 12:00, the Okarino Trapisonda company will entertain the spectators with its puppet and puppet show ‘Brux, el marciano’; also on the same stage, at 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., the company La Carrera Teatro will offer its show ‘El gallo Kikirigallo’ and the program will end with the play ‘The three little pigs’ by the company Okarino Trapisonda , starting at 7:00 p.m.

General program of the Muelle de las Carabelas

From July 14 to September 15, the Muelle de las Carabelas offers visitors a special summer program designed by the Diputación La Rábida Management Unit. All activities will take place during the usual schedule of the Pier -from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.-, except for night activities beyond closing hours, which are three: ‘Cinema under the stars’, The stars of Columbus: the move’ and a photography workshop at sunset.

The theatrical activities that are taking place from Tuesday to Sunday are the show ‘En un día normal’ from the Mercenary Code, in which the life and people of a crucial moment in history are shown; ‘Los del Caribe’, a fun and unprecedented interpretation of the story by Les buffons du roi; ‘Colón discovers the Caravel Dock’, a dramatization by Platalea, in which Columbus visits the Caravel Dock and explains to visitors the details of his trip; ‘Rápido, an admiral in the room’, by the Dani Verum Company; ‘The wandering merchant’, with Fernando Balbás, and ‘Pliegos de Cordel’ by Irene Reina, where epic deeds, fantastic tales and historical episodes are humorously recounted.

As for the participatory exhibition activities, the Pottery workshops are taking place from Tuesday to Sunday in different time slots – a classic in the summer program of the Muelle de las Carabelas – taught by Carlos Dovao; the Live Painting workshop, where visitors interact with the artist inside the studio, enabled and open to the public to see the process; musical instrument construction workshop; the Nautical Charts workshop, with the preparation of nautical maps and their reading; and the Naturalism and Sailor Knots workshops.
