In the coming weeks, the agents that make up the Cartaya Local Police staff will have a new tool in their daily work to guarantee citizen security in the town. The City Council has provided the police force with a new drone to reinforce surveillance and has trained the staff so that they can start using it immediately.
The mayor, Pepa González Bayo, and the Councilor for Citizen Security, José Ángel Rodríguez Marcelino, have attended one of the training sessions that the agents have been receiving during this week, and the objective is that “this new tool, which is going to be very effective for surveillance and to guarantee security in events where there are large concentrations of people, join the new means with which we have been providing the Local Police during the last year to renew their equipment, “said the councilor local.
Rodríguez Marcelino, for his part, recalled that in this period the Citizen Security Area has provided the police force with a dozen new telecommunications equipment, “that allow them to work in a network in real time”, with new vehicles and new equipment, “from bulletproof vests, uniforms, a breathalyzer and a new cold zone to unload weapons, among others.”
In addition, the Local Police has had a new vehicle from the DGT for alcohol controls; It has been integrated into the Andalusian Emergency Service 112, “which reinforces its coordination with other security and emergency bodies and allows us to advance in a more effective and efficient response to incidents that may occur in our municipality”; and has also joined the VioGén program to combat gender violence.
More safety with the drone
Finally, he recalled, “we have also modernized police management with the implementation of the e-POL system, which has allowed the digitization and computerization of all procedures and networking with other municipalities and police forces in the province.”
In this context, the mayor pointed out, “with the acquisition and commissioning of the new drone and the implementation of the necessary training for its use, we continue to take steps forward in our objective of modernizing police management and improving agility and effectiveness of the service provided to the citizen in terms of security, which is our great objective”.
